বিশ্ব চলচ্চিত্রের ইতিহাসে এযাবতকালের সবচেয়ে আলোচিত ও বিখ্যাত প্রথম ৩০০টির মধ্যে ১০০ ছবির তালিকা এটি। যদিও বিখ্যাত চলচ্চিত্র বলতে সব মানুষের পছন্দের তালিকা এক না হবার সম্ভাবনাই বেশি। এই শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব বিচারের কোনও আধুনিক পদ্ধতিও নেই। চলচ্চিত্র গবেষক, সমালোচক ও দর্শকদের মতামতই এখানে প্রধান বিবেচ্য। বেশিরভাগ ছবিই অস্কার বা একাডেমি পুরস্কারপ্রাপ্ত। সুতরাং মানুষে মানুষে মতামতের পার্থক্য থাকবেই। এই তালিকায় ইংরেজী ব্যতীত অন্য ভাষার ছবি যুক্ত করা হয়নি। যুক্ত হয়নি ডকুমেন্টারি, শর্টফিল্ম, টিভিমোভিস বা সিরিজ ছবি। কোনও কোনও ছবি আছে অনেকদিনের পুরনো, কিন্তু চলচ্চিত্র বোদ্ধাদের কাছে সেগুলিও কিংবদন্তীর ন্যায় চিরস্মরণীয় আছে। আগেকার দিনে সিনেমাহলে গিয়ে দেখা ছাড়া ভিন্ন কোনও উপায় ছিল না। এখন ইন্টারনেটের আবির্ভাবের ফলে অতীতদিনের যেকোনও ছবিই হোক না কেন তা সিনেমাহলে না হলেও ঘরে বসেই দেখা সম্ভব, যদিও কম্পিউটারের ছোট স্ক্রীনে ছবি দেখা আর সিনেমাহলের বড় পর্দায় দেখার মধ্যে বেশ পার্থক্য আছে। এসব ছবির মধ্যে প্রায় সবগুলোই বলতে গেলে হলিউড(আমেরিকা) ও ব্রডওয়ে(ব্রিটেন) নির্মিত। ইউটিউব-এ ছবির নাম লিখে সার্চ করলেই পাওয়া যেতে পারে সব ছবির হদিস বা ট্রেইলর।
আর ভালো ছবি দেখতে পারাটাও এক ধরনের সার্থকতা। কি বলেন?
